Primary Winch

My primary winch has been repainted, all the bearing replaced, greased, and it seed a shame to bolt it back on with old tired looking aluminum cover plates. So I decided to replace those with stainless steel cover plates, and swap the aluminum cleat with a new stainless one. 

All the compliments have been dropped off with Karl, my friend the machinist.  

I also ordered two pieces of stainless steel from Jeff, my sheet metal contact, for adapter plates to change my aft Barient 26 SS winches for a pair if Lewmar 54's self tailing Ocean winches. The later have a wider base--hence the need for an adapter plate for each.

Once that material comes in, I will run it over to Karl to fabricate the adapter plates. I will need to remove the old winches this week for the bolt pattern.
